At ModCloth, we wanted to create a native app experience to reach our customer wherever she may be and provide a delightful shopping experience even when she's not at her computer. I worked in a supporting/consulting role in the initial development of the iOS app before moving into a full-time visual design role in creating key features across both iOS and Android platforms.
The iOS app now supports an average of 30% of ModCloth's customer base, has been featured in the App Store as an Editor's Choice, and has received a great deal of press from publications such as CNET, Huffington Post, The Next Web, Glamour Magazine, and more.
User profiles were a way of tying together all of ModCloth's social commerce features in a centralized location. The MVP version of profiles allowed users to curate personalized and shoppable collections of outfit photos, loved products, and product reviews.
Write a Review
Reviews are a huge part of the purchasing decision and we wanted to let our customers submit photos and write reviews on the go, straight from their phone or tablet.
ModCloth is all about helping people feel beautiful in their own body, and one way to advocate for self-love and acceptance was showcasing products on real people, not just models. Style Gallery is a community-driven feature in which users submit outfit photos, tag pictured or similar products from the ModCloth catalog, and share their style with the community.
